Description:
Chupadedos are delicious green olives from Spain picked at the right ripe moment.
The recipe for the marinate is simple: olives are crashed and pit remains.
Then the producer adds pepper, garlic and herbs among them together with oregano, basil and cummin and finally some vinegar to preserve them deliciously.
The tenderness of the olive variety is crucial to its taste, this one is a verdial olive grown in Jaen.
You won't stop eating and will lick your fingers while and when you finish them, that's the concept of the olive "chupadedos" : lick your fingers.
Mostly in bars olives are eaten with your fingers or toothpicks and very frequently added for free with some beer.
At home or on a picnic you can eat however you like and as much as you want !
These olives pair very well with cheeses and snacks such as almonds or kikos ( fried corn) plus a glass of wine or cold beer.
They are one of the key ingredients of the Mediterranean diet and a must in every Spanish home for lunch, dinner or snacking prior to eating.
It contains fewer calories than processed snacks and is virtually cholesterol free.
Scientific research shows eating 7 olives per day is good for your body and health but I bet you'll eat more chupadedos than that!
