These 3 jars are amazing natural and premium olives from Terra Alta area
Empeltre is a traditional Spanish variety found in Catalonia and Aragon very famous for its black colour which means the olive went ripe on the tree and was harvested later in the year.
Cured in water and salt for several weeks and later on in oil, this variety has a smooth,sweet taste, unique, very appreciated in the markets by families.
Families request if this is a kalamata olive for their similarity with the Greek variety
Well , the answer is no. They look similar but this natural way of processing the olive makes it unique
The name Empeltre comes from the catalan word “empelt” which means “graft”
We offer it now in green and black moments of ripeness to taste , compare and enjoy a unique variety garnishing on stews, salads, focaccias and fish dishes.
The arbequina olive is also natural and of premium quality.
Small in size with a brown colour it is consumed as table olive and extra virgin olive oil
Cured in water , salt and thyme is added later on.
Much appreciated in the markets for its natural taste with reminiscences of roasted coffee.
